Ultrasonic Cleaning

Ultrasonic Cleaning is the first step in prevention, treatment and control of periodontal disease. At Praxisclinic, we use the P5 XS ultrasonic scaler from satelec which while reaching below the gum line to remove bacteria, also flushes the area with a medicated wash. The ultrasonic vibrations are strong enough to remove hard calculus but are gentle enough not to harm your gums or teeth.

The main cause of gum disease is plaque, a sticky colorless film of bacteria that constantly forms on your teeth and attacks the gums surrounding the teeth. If not cleaned, the plaque hardens to form calculus/ tartar. This eventually spreads below the gum line and attack the tissue and bore supporting the teeth. Hence a regular cleaning appointment an integral part of basic oral health care.
